Our District

Colonial Beach—located on the Potomac River between Washington, DC, and the Chesapeake Bay—invites you to experience the newly created Ferry Landing District. For decades, the St. John’s steamer ferried visitors down the Potomac to our lovely river shore.

Bring your family and stroll on the boardwalk, take a dip, or fish from the town pier—all with an expansive view of the Potomac.

Enjoy art galleries and local shops, and take in local seafood, along with a craft beverage of your choice. Don’t forget to rent a golf cart for the day or weekend, and enjoy small town living at its best.

Our Businesses

Welcome! We are the businesses of the Ferry Landing District. This map will give you an idea of the many attractions you will find here, all of them a short walking distance from each other.

Murals

So far, seven murals have been completed in the Ferry Landing District of Colonial Beach by artist Melanie Stimmell and her team (from We Talk Chalk and the Montross Mural Studio).
